At Blackheath High School, girls aged from 3 to 18 benefit from all the advantages of a small school in terms of care, support and positive relationships, while experiencing the opportunities and facilities of a far larger school.

Blackheath High School was rated as 'excellent' in all categories by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). The ISI comments: "Pupil’s achievement in their work and activities is excellent throughout the school and they are well educated, fully in line with the school’s aim to promote academic excellence."

Students enjoy small teaching groups with inspiring teaching based on giving the girls exciting, informative and well-structured lessons and projects. The school provides a broad and interesting curriculum, enriched by a strong and varied programme of extra-curricular activities with the use of ICT incorporated throughout.

Girls learn Mandarin and Latin; perform in the 345-seat theatre and play tennis on one of the 13 tennis courts. The school holds many national awards including the Arts Mark Gold and the prestigious ICT Mark, recognising the school as being in the forefront of using information and communications technology (ICT) to enhance all aspects of pupil’s work including providing personal laptops for every Sixth Former and a virtual learning environment.

We are delighted with the school and all you have enabled our daughter to achieve.

Students flourish in an all-girl environment, and the school's distinctive, holistic, forward-thinking approach to girls' education places a strong emphasis on their health and welfare. Pupils can join one of the school’s many clubs, including wellbeing activities. Many girls participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and enjoy activities such as debating, film club, gardening club and exciting trips abroad to places including Iceland, the USA, China and across Europe. Girls in Year 2 and Year 7 receive a musical instrument and free tuition for a year.

Blackheath High School delivers an education that provides opportunities to develop skills, to gain knowledge and to strengthen character. In order to achieve this the school’s teaching and learning is supported by its unique 'Pillars of Learning': Resilience; Enterprise, Innovation; Community Spirit and Environmental Awareness. Implementing these pillars encourages girls to develop the thoughts, values and behaviours promoted at Blackheath High School.

The school is rated ‘excellent’ in the latest ISI inspection and 'outstanding' in the most recent Ofsted inspection and its students enjoy considerable success in gaining places at prestigious universities including Oxford and Cambridge, while achieving standards well above the national average. Blackheath High School girls typically become resilient, confident and adaptable young women with a love of learning and are recognised for their friendliness, sense of responsibility and independence of thought. Typically, they go out into the world and make a difference.
