Remembering Old Friends

On behalf of the Sutton High School community, I am pleased to extend an invitation to you through the pages of this prospectus, to visit our school and find out more about us.

Sutton High School is characterised by its friendly atmosphere. Pupils, teachers and support staff work together in a school which buzzes with activity and which promotes the development of an enquiring mind and respect for others.

Sutton High School is small enough

• to create a caring community where each girl is known as an individual.
• to provide an extensive and effective system of pastoral care to support girls in their academic, social and personal development.
• to provide extra support when necessary and guidance on university applications and life beyond school.
• to tailor teaching to the individual.
• to achieve the best examination results in the Borough of Sutton on a subject by subject basis.

Sutton High School is big enough

• to offer girls a wide curriculum, including a choice of Modern Foreign Languages, Separate Sciences, Arts and Technology subjects, IT and the Classics.
• to staff all lessons with well qualified specialist teachers.
• to occupy modern classrooms and laboratories, computer suites, workshops and Sports Hall alongside our award-winning and sympathetically renovated older buildings.
• to involve girls in a huge number of extra-curricular activities which range from Drama, Choirs, Orchestra and Clubs to Netball, Swimming, Hockey and much more.
• to play an active role in the local community of Sutton.

We look forward to welcoming you to Sutton High School for our Activities and Open Mornings in the Autumn Term, or to one of the other many activities which go on each week in school. For further information, a tour of the school or a discussion to find out about opportunities for your daughter at Sutton High School, please contact our Admissions Secretary.

I look forward to welcoming you to Sutton High School.

Stephen Callaghan, BA, NPQH.
