Our Charter for Action: a note to our alumnae

Over the past couple of weeks, the Girls’ Day School Trust has heard from many of our alumnae. Prompted by the Black Lives Matter movement and the horrendous death of George Floyd in the USA, alumnae have got in touch to ask what we are doing on issues of diversity and inclusion – and particularly – racism.

Some alumnae have been petitioning for a review of the curriculum; others have shared some of their personal experiences; and others again have sent us messages of support and offers of help. We would like to thank you for all of these communications; while we are trying to acknowledge and respond to everyone, this may take a little time. We hope you will bear with us.

We are also currently in the process of setting up a series of initiatives through our Charter for Action; as these measures take shape, with the help of our staff, parent, alumnae and pupil communities, we will be in touch again.
