A fitting end to World Book Day celebrations at Croydon High

On the evening of Thursday 2nd March, World Book Day at Croydon High concluded with the visit of two of the UK’s most exciting young writers, Anna Mazzola and Sarah (S.D.) Sykes.

Both Anna (CHS 1996 alumna) and Sarah have received national recognition for their recent work. Anna’s first novel ‘The Unseeing’ was published last summer to critical acclaim. Both of Sarah’s first two novels have also been widely praised. Anna and Sarah gave an enthralled audience (a mixture of current and former pupils and staff) some fascinating insights into the world of books and publishing. Afterwards they signed books and chatted. It was a delightful evening and a fitting end to a full day of celebrations to mark World Book day.
