Parent Power is the Sunday Times’ guide to the top performing schools in Britain. It publishes a ranking of 2,000 schools (maintained and independent), using the latest results from public examinations to assess and compare academic performance.
Alastair McCall, Editor of The Sunday Times Schools Guide, Parent Power, said:
“Notting Hill and Ealing High School Junior School proves you can have both outstanding academic success and a relaxed, happy school where girls are encouraged to be individuals and to express themselves. An ever-present in The Sunday Times top 10 prep schools in England, NHEHS had stellar results in 2016, ranking it equal second in our table, its best ever position. Its success is no accident. Under the headship of Silvana Silva, drawing on her near-30 years of experience at the school, NHEHS is going from strength to strength.
"She describes the school as a “joyous, happy place” and when we visited the school it fully lived up to that description. It was one of the easier decisions for us to name it as The Sunday Times Independent Preparatory School of the Year. It is thoroughly deserved.”
Head of the Junior School, Mrs Silvana Silva added:
“I am absolutely thrilled that we have been named by The Sunday Times as the best independent prep school in the country. Notting Hill & Ealing Junior School is such a wonderful school where the girls are happy, secure and challenged to achieve their best and consequently achieve consistently high academic standards. This is due to our committed staff, supportive parents and the enthusiastic girls themselves. Although league tables are not the only measure of a school, I am so proud of all the work that girls and staff have done, and do, not only this year but every year to make an award like this possible.”
