“Our GCSE students are celebrating their own and their peers’ success today as they receive their results and look forward to what comes next.”

The first cohort to sit public GCSE exam results, following national disruption in 2020 and 2021, the students reflected today on the challenges that lockdowns brought.

Anjali said:

“I’m very relieved and happy, I got the results that I wanted – all 9s! I’ve really appreciated my teachers’ support in finding a balance between relaxing and revising.”

Our students continue to demonstrate the highest levels of achievement, despite the disruption that lockdowns had on their lives in 2020 and 2021. The school provided pastoral support throughout, along with an exciting array of co-curricular activities as soon as they were possible again, such as foreign exchanges, wellbeing week, creative writing courses, neurodiversity panels, national poetry and translation competitions, musicals, plays, high profile speakers, and sport.

Marina Gardiner Legge, Headmistress, said:

“It’s been a wonderful experience to watch and support the growth of this group of courageous and bold students as they navigated ‘post-pandemic learning’. I am so grateful to all our staff, our parents and everyone in our community who has worked so hard to support them.

These results show what bright futures these students have ahead of them. I’m thrilled that so many of them will continue their education with us at Sixth Form and that we’ll be welcoming new students too – it’s a testament to the intellectual support, opportunities, and experiences we offer to the bright and the ambitious. Today we focus on the individual stories of each one of our pupils; we are extremely proud of each and every one of them.”

Jane Berry, Head of Year 11, said:

“The news for these students today is a testament to their bright and sparky attitude to learning; their ability to see beyond the challenges of the past couple of years and envisage exciting futures for themselves. I am so grateful for the support and guidance that our team of tutors have given them and their parents over the last couple of years.”
