Wendy and Peter Pan wow audiences at Howell’s School
From Monday 17th until Thursday 20th October, the Howell’s School production of Wendy and Peter Pan delighted audiences, playing to a full house for every performance. Ella Hickson’s adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s much-loved story for the Royal Shakespeare Company puts the character of Wendy firmly centre stage, in a production that is refreshingly modern but never loses the charm of the original.
The performance on Monday morning was particularly special as the school welcomed 150 Year 6 pupils from Llanederyn, Llandaff City and St Paul’s Church in Wales Primary Schools. The school’s young visitors were spellbound throughout the performance and one young theatre-goer commented: “That was the best thing I’ve ever seen in my whole life!”.
All students involved gave sensationally good performances, congratulations to all. A special mention must go to Year 12’s talented musician Katie J who composed all the music to accompany the play. The school wishes to thank to Mrs Rees and all the staff who made Wendy and Peter Pan so successful.
